John Hope Franklin, the revered historian and prolific
scholar of African American history who lived the experience he wrote
about, died on March 25, 2009, at age 94 in Durham, N.C.
He met with the Trotter Group at its 2005 meeting at Fisk University
in Nashville, Tenn.
